Anger in public over Chamoli gangrape

In the case of gang rape by the three youths at Karnprayag in Chamoli district on the tip of a knife, the angered students blocked the highway.
Angry college students & public demonstrated in the morning on Friday and jammed the highway for about an hour. Students demanded the hanging of the accused. And if it does not happen then a furious movement will be done.

Protestors blocked the Badrinath Highway for one hour. GGIC’s students also joined the protest.

Three laborers have been accused of gang-raping a young girl in Karnprayag. On the complaint of the victim, the police has registered the case and arrested the three accused and sent them to jail. In the medical report, the crime has been confirmed.

According to the report filed by the police, on Tuesday, the victim, the young woman, went with her friend to visit the Panchpuliya on the Badrinath Highway. There they met three accused.

The three youths stopped the woman and her friend by showing them a knife. By snatching money from the youth, they took the girl towards the bushes above the road, where the three youths committed the heinous crime with her at the tip of a knife.

They threatened to kill the person for giving information about the incident. The girl came home and informed the family about the incident. The family reached the police station with the girl and lodged a complaint against three unknown accused.

Police station police chief Chitragupta said that the help of the friend accompanying the girl the three were identified and arrested.

The three accused, are Manoj resident of Pilibhit (Uttar Pradesh), Chhotu resident Bhagalpur (Bihar) and Rohit Phagwara (Punjab).

They said that the three accused worked in the municipality to dispose garbage. They have been sent to jail in judicial custody by lodging a complaint against them for rape, threatening to kill them and looting money.
