Cold wave predicted for NCR on Dec 21 & 22

Orange alert issued for Delhi

Temperatures are constantly decreasing across India with full fledged winters. But in Delhi, people are worried due to the sudden rise in cold, and at the moment there is no shortage of trouble. It was quite cold on Thursday morning and mercury dropped to 4 degree Celsius. With this, the city’s temperature reached its lowest level this season.

Meteorological scientist Kuldeep Shrivastav says that on Friday and Saturday the mercury may be less than 4 degrees. Winter Orange alert have been released for Delhi. There may be so much cold in Delhi that the drops of water lying on the ground could freeze.

Cold winter in Delhi

According to the Meteorological Department, minimum temperature was recorded at 4 degrees Celsius in Delhi’s Safdarjung on Thursday, which is 4 degrees below the average of this season. This is the lowest temperature this month.

In fact, the temperature in Delhi has been around 5 degrees Celsius since last two days, and the mercury will continue to fall continuously for three days. In the year 2015, the cold wave was for one day while in December 2015, there was cold wave for three days. In 2011 there was a 4 day cold wave.

Fog will also wreak havoc

People of Delhi will not only have to deal with biting cold but also with fog. Delhiites are going to be face fog, i.e. along with cold in Delhi, fog is also going to wreck havoc. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be dense fog on December 23 in Delhi.

Delhi colder than Shimla

In Delhi, the minimum temperature was 5 degrees on December 19, while the mercury in Shimla was 7 degrees Celsius. In Delhi on December 20, the mercury was recorded at 4 degree Celsius, while in Shimla, the temperature was 7.7 degree Celsius. On December 21, the temperature of Delhi will be 4 degrees Celsius, while the temperature of Shimla will decrease by 1 degree to 6 degrees.
