Nainital High Court keeping close watch on royal wedding at Auli
The High Court has expressed displeasure over the high profile marriage, which is being spent at a cost of Rs 200 crore in Uttarakhand’s world famous skiing destination, Auli. The court banned the helicopter landing in Auli giving instructions to the parties involved in the marriage to clean up there and deposit the five crore rupees to compensate the environment for the possible loss. The Pollution Control Board has been asked to monitor the marriage and report the environmental loss on June 18.
In the case, on the PIL filed on behalf of advocate Rakesh Joshi, the hearing was heard on Monday in the division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Alok Kumar Verma. The spokesperson of the company E Factor Enterprises, managing the marriage, told the court that they have been given permission by the municipality for this and they have deposited 30 lakhs in the government account. The guests from the grooms side are from South African and the bride side are Dubai residents. The wedding ceremony is to be held in the Auli area from June 18 to June 22. The state-of-the-art arrangements have been made for guests arriving at the wedding, including AC tents, helicopter services, helipads.
Asked the state government to clear up the situation till two o’clock today
While hearing, the court told the government and the defendant that if the money is not deposited for cleaning then the marriage permission in Auli will have to be reconsidered. The court asked the government whether there were such occasions in the Auli earlier, whether the helipad is already there or not? The court also asked the government whether Auli is in Bugyal and who gave permission to marry there?
The court said that if Auli comes into Bugyal, then permission for marriage ceremony there is contempt of the order passed before the court, in which there were various activities banned. This restriction is also applied in the High Himalayan region. The court directed the State Pollution Control Board to keep an eye on this marriage and report to the court on 18th June that the environmental devastation caused by marriage preparations. The hearing of the case will continue on Tuesday, June 18.
Family members arrive
Both sons of the Gupta have also reached Auli along with the people of the Gupta brothers’ family. For the guests it was said that there was 200 helicopters to ferry them. From here on Tuesday, wedding ceremonies will begin.
Local products stalls will be installed from the Department of Industry. On June 17, a banquet was held for the local people on behalf of the organizers before the wedding ceremony of the sons of Gupta brothers, organized from 18th to 22nd June in Auli.
25 thousand flowering plants have been planted on the slopes of Auli. For this, garden experts have planted flowers in Auli. Many Bollywood stars will attend the special marriage of two sons of Gupta brothers in Auli Katrina Kaif, Siddharth Malhotra, Shahid Kapoor Kailash Kher, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Vishal Shekhar are expected at the wedding.
