DTC planning to start inter-state bus service

Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is planning to start inter-state bus service. These buses running on CNG will be run on the basis of pilot project right now. The purpose of this initiative is to create a green corridor around the national capital. Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan gave this information.

Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “We have got security clearance for type 4 cylinder, it will be based on polymer or fiber, it is light and we have tested it in buses. We have provided these buses from Delhi to Agra, Jaipur, Haridwar And for Chandigarh, we have decided to run from February. We will call it Green Corridor because it will use clean fuel. ” This information was given by the reporters in separate interaction during a program related to the beginning of various digital initiatives (IGL) customers.

Giving more information about the pilot project, Pradhan said, “This service is being started on a trial basis. This project will eventually prove to be commercially viable. After that other buses will be run on other routes. “

A senior official said that the cylinders are being imported from Germany and they are light. From this, buses can go up to 700 km by fuels once. There are five steel cylinders in the existing CNG buses. It has 100 kg of fuel capacity. There will be seven fiber cylinders in the new buses, in which 300 kg CNG can be kept. The cost of existing buses is Rs 32 lakhs, whereas the cost of fiber cylinders is Rs 39 lakhs as the cost of each cylinder is Rs one lakh.

He also said that if the pilot project succeeds, then the cylinder will be manufactured here. This will reduce costs. The official said that DTC can buy these cylinders from Ashok Leyland and will be fitted above the fiber cylinder buses. IGL has planned to run eight buses on long distances next year with the intention of presenting examples for other state transport corporations and private operators.
Pradhan also said that 70,000 crore rupees are being invested in the city gas distribution network.
