Microsoft launches new tools for more secure elections

In the build 2019 conference, Microsoft has announced new software tools to further improve the election. With the help of this open-source software, voting will be made safer, verified and more transparent. Two of the three top US election vendors have also expressed interest in potentially incorporating software into their voting system.

This software kit is being developed with Galois, an Oregon-based company. It makes a safe voting system prototype under contract with DARPA. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said at a developer conference that Microsoft kit will be available early this year and it is ready for general elections next year.

He said that with the help of this, the infrastructure of elections can be modernized everywhere in the world. Microsoft company officials said that the ElectionGuard Kit will be made available freely.

Before this Microsoft introduced the Azure blockchain service, which will make the organization more manageable and more efficient, so that the business can concentrate on product rates and development. The Azure Blockchain service will facilitate industries to develop their own applications instead of supporting cryptosystems on their cloud-based platform.

How ElectionGuard will work

An election system using Microsoft’s ElectionGuard would provide a voter with a unique code that would not reveal who or what they voted for. The code could then be used to follow the vote from the moment the voter casts it, after the voter has verified the selections are correct, to the moment it’s counted.

In a statement, Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Mark Russinovich also announced a partnership with J.P.Morgan to create quorum (an enterprise-based version of open source platform ethereum). ‘
