The weather in Uttarakhand is once again on its way to change. The cold is increasing continuously in the state. The dip in morning temperatures continues. In the next 48 hours, there may be snowfall in the higher reaches of the mountains, due to which the temperature is expected to drop further. The effect of snowfall on the mountains will be seen in the plains, here the cold will also intensify. The Meteorological Department has predicted snowfall in the higher reaches of the mountains on December 15 and 16.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light drizzle and snow in the high altitude areas of the five districts. It includes Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Bageshwar districts. This may result in a drop in temperature. However, during this time the weather will be clear in the low-lying areas of the mountain and the plains. These days, there is light fog and mist in some areas of the plains in the morning and evening.

In the mountains too, frost has increased in places with less sunlight. It is a matter of relief that there is no forecast of rain in the state for the next five to six days. However, snowfall may occur in the higher reaches on 15th and 16th December. The state recorded 11.3 mm of rain in the last 12 days in December. According to the Director of the Meteorological Department, Bikram Singh, the frost in the mountain is harmful to the crops. At the same time, it is also hindering traffic in hilly places with less sunlight.
