Uttarakhand corona update: 12 cases found on September 29

Six infected patients have been reported in Dehradun, two each in Almora and Nainital and one each in Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar. At the same time, not a single infected patient has been reported in eight districts.

Special vaccination against Campaign will run till October 2

A special vaccination campaign will run till October 2 in the state to prevent Covid infection. On the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, the Central Government had started a free vaccination campaign. This campaign is ending on September 30, but the state government has sought permission from the Center to extend this campaign for two more days. For this, 70 thousand vaccine doses were given to the state.

With Covid infection becoming common, people are no longer getting booster doses with as much urgency as the other two doses. Due to which it is far from the target to give booster dose to 100% people in the state. So far 23 percent of the total beneficiaries have applied booster dose. Whereas against the target, 101 percent have received both the first and 96 percent vaccine doses.

State Immunization Officer Dr. Kuldeep Martolia informed that a special vaccination campaign against campaign has been launched across the state. Covishield, Covaxin and Corbevax vaccines are being administered free of cost to people above 12 years of age. The campaign will continue till October 2 in the state. For this, the central government has also sent 70 thousand vaccines by giving permission.
