India reciprocates with quarantine, testing rules for UK travelers coming to India

India has also given a reciprocal reply to the ongoing Corona ban on Indian travelers in Britain. Now travelers coming from Britain will have to be isolated in India for 10 days. The government has issued this order on Friday. Apart from this, people of UK will also have to undergo RTPCR test.

According to the order, the passenger will have to undergo a test even after the dose of the vaccine has been taken by them. Travelers will be required to undergo RTPCR test up to 72 hours before the start of the journey and 8 days after arrival. This order will come into effect from 4th October.

Britain has also put measures on Indian travelers

Britain also recognized Covishield, but added some conditions for Indians. India had also expressed displeasure over this. According to the new rules, Indians who have received both doses of the Covishield vaccine will still have to remain in quarantine for 10 days on arrival in the UK and will also have to undergo tests.

Indian citizens had called this decision of Britain discriminatory. In response to this, Britain said that they have no problem with those who get Covishield but they cannot trust India’s vaccine certificate.

India had warned of retaliation last week

On 24 September, the Indian government had said that ‘we can respond to Britain in the same manner’. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan had told that the governments of both the countries are talking among themselves. He had called the restrictions on Indian travelers discriminatory.
