Chaitra Navratra 2023: Vikram Samvat 2080 begins

From today the new year of Hindu calendar Vikram Samvat 2080 has started. Vikram Samvat 2080 will be 57 years ahead of the year 2023 of the English calendar. From this day, the great festival of worship of Goddess Durga will also start for 9 days from the Pratipada date of Chaitra Navratri. The first month of the Hindu calendar is Chaitra and the last month is Falgun.

Chaitra Navratri, the great festival of Shakti worship and devotion, has started from today. Chaitra Navratri 2023 is starting from 22nd March, which will remain till 30th March. Along with this, Shri Ram Navami will be celebrated on 30 March. Navratri is considered very sacred in Hinduism. During this, the nine forms of Maa Durga are worshiped according to the rituals. Devotees offer special prayers to Goddess Durga in these nine days. This time Chaitra Navratri 2023 is considered very special because it will last for 9 days. This year Navratri is from March 22 to March 30.

Vikram Samvat 2080

Samvatsar means Sam+Vatsar means full year. According to the scriptures, Lord Brahma created the entire universe and worlds on this day. The Matsya Avatar of Lord Vishnu also took place on this day. According to Hindu religious texts, the new year starts from Chaitra Shukla Pratipada date. According to astrology, there are 5 differences of Samvat, Solar, Sawan, Lunar, Brahaspatya and Nakshatra. There are 12 months in a Samvat, their sequence is fixed from Chaitra to Falgun. There are 6 seasons in a Samvat. There are a total of 60 Samvats, they begin with Prabhava and end with Akshay.

Significance of Vikrami Samvat

There are Samvatsars according to different religious sects, such as Saka Samvat (every year from March 22, it is now also called Rashtriya Samvat), Bangla Samvat, Hijri Samvat. Christians celebrate the Christian year, which lasts from January to December. Vikrami Samvat in India, which was started 2000 years ago by Emperor Vikramaditya of Ujjain, which starts from Chaitra Shukla Paksha Pratipada. All the followers of Sanatan Dharma celebrate it as New Year. It is also called Gudi Padwa. From this day the new calendar starts and according to the calculation of astrology, the predictions of all the subjects of the country, the state, the dates of public behavior, marriage, other rites and religious rituals are determined.

The coronation of Lord Rama and Yudhishthira took place on this day. On this day, nature also gives us signs of change with new leaves coming on the trees after autumn, many types of flowers bloom all around, it seems as if the greenery is also celebrating the new year. After the harvest, new grain comes in the market. Navratri, the symbol of power and devotion, starts from this day. The whole atmosphere seems blissful and spiritual.
