Meteorological Department predicts heavy rain in Tamil Nadu on December 8-10

Weather patterns are changing in the month of December. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert that there will be heavy rains in Tamil Nadu between 8-10 December. Along with this, strong winds are also expected to accompany the rains. P. Senthamarai Kannan, director of the Regional Weather Forecasting Center Chennai, said that the northeast monsoon was not active in November. Because of which there was less rainfall in the month of November. But the Meteorological Department estimates that this shortfall can be compensated in December. It is being told that due to the arrival of back to back weather systems over the Bay of Bengal, there will be heavy rainfall in the month of December. The IMD predicts that a low pressure system may bring heavy rains and strong winds over North Coastal Tamil Nadu including Chennai.

Low pressure area will form from December 5

According to meteorologists, a low pressure area is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea by December 5. It is likely to turn into a depression by December 7. And it is very likely to move west-northwestwards and reach north Tamil Nadu and Puducherry areas.

Rainy weather alert in next 48 hours

The director of the Regional Weather Forecasting System said that the IMD has also predicted rain in the next 48 hours.
