Water crisis looming over New Delhi

A water crisis could commence in Delhi from May 21 . Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to LG Anil Baijal and Haryana CM Manoharlal Khattar. Delhi has been getting 1133 cusecs of water from Haryana since 1996.

This is the first time that Haryana is making controversy in the matter of giving water to Delhi. The Supreme Court also directed Haryana to retain status till May 21. Court has directed Delhi to approach Upper Yamuna River Board. If Haryana decreases the supply of water from May 21, then there can be a major water crisis in the capital.
This will affect the Chandrawal plant from where the Lutyen Zone gets water. The Chief Minister has urged LG to try to maintain water supply from Haryana.
