Andy Murray says Australian Open 2019 could be his last

Just prior to the start of the first Grand Slam of the year the Australian Open, former World number 1 Andy Murray shocked the tennis world. In an emotional press conference the 3 time Grand Slam champion broke down while announcing the news. Murray,31 who has been recovering from a hip injury said that he hoped for one last show at his home tournament Wimbledon but his body just can’t cope up. With Murray’s  announcement this could be the last time the audience could see the Big 4 (Roger Federer, Rafael Nada, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray) in action in a Grand Slam.

Murray is regarded as one of the best retrievers in the game and ended Britain’s 77 year old wait for a home Grand Slam champion winning Wimbledon. He won the prestigious tournament 2 times along with winning the US Open once. He is also a two time Olympic gold medalist winning in 2012 and defending it in 2016.
