SC stays arrest of activists; next hearing on September 6

In the cases related to Bhima Koregaon violence, on Tuesday, there was a commotion over the arrest of Left activists and raids on their bases in many parts of the country. On Wednesday, the Supreme Court stayed the arrest of five activists in this case till September 6. The court has said that the five activists will be placed under house arrest. The next hearing in this case will be on September 6.

On Tuesday, as soon as the raid was reported, the Opposition attacked the government. Gautam Navalkha’s hearing took place at Delhi High Court today. Meanwhile, the connection of those arrested in Bhima Koregaon violence has been revealed with the terrorist organizations. Sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs have claimed that the Maharashtra Police has adequate evidence to it.

On this case, activists of various Left organizations also protested in Hyderabad.Political parties have condemned police action in this case. All parties, including the Congress-Leftists, have called it the dictatorship of the Modi government. After the manner in which the case has been conducted, the National Human Rights Commission has sent a notice to the Maharashtra government.
