‘Aim to screen everyone in next 10 days’ says Uttarakhand CM

In Uttarakhand, the cases of Corona virus infection are increasing ever since the lockdown restrictions began to ease. The state government is working on different schemes to control this. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that the Health Department team will conduct medical screening of every person in the state within the next 10 days.

Talking to news agency ANI on Sunday, he said, ‘Our aim is to screen every person in the state, especially children and elderly people. I have given a target to complete the medical screening of all the people of Uttarakhand within 10 days.’

 

As of Saturday night, the number of corona patients in the state has risen to 1785. On Saturday, 61 new corona patients were found in the state. Corona virus has been confirmed in 23 patients from Tehri, 12 from Dehradun, three from Chamoli, one from Rudraprayag and four from Uttarkashi, four from Haridwar, 9 from Pauri, five from US nagar.

Except two patients from Dehradun, all other patients are migrants and were kept in different quarantine centers after returning from outside. Additional Secretary informed that a total of 44040 samples have been sent in the state so far. Of which 36834 sample reports have come negative. While 4136 sample reports are yet to come. With the increase of patients in the state, the number of containment zones is also increasing continuously.
