Hail warning in 5 districts of Uttarakhand on 31 January

After three days of relief, the weather in Uttarakhand is going to change. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of hailstorm in five districts of Garhwal and Kumaon. There is a possibility of rains in many places.

People got some relief from the cold due to blooming sunlight for three days, but the people have to spend shivering morning and evenings. Sun shone in most of the district on Wednesday morning. In spite of this the cold winds, brought down the temperatures.

In ten of the 12 major cities of the state, the minimum temperature was recorded below three degrees. The Meteorological Center issued a warning and said that there can be hail somewhere in Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Nainital and Udhamsingh Nagar within next twenty four hours. There may be light to moderate rains in other districts of the state.

On the other hand, apart from Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, the people of Pithoragarh still have no relief from the snow and ice. In Tehri district, still a dozen villages are affected by snow. Five roads in Chamoli and one in Rudraprayag district have not yet been opened since snowfall. Electricity supply in these three districts is also affected. Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, said that there may be hail in some districts. In many places, there is a possibility of snow in the rain and hilly areas. Tourists from Delhi trapped since 9 days due to heavy snow in Chakrata were finally rescued today.
