Saras mela to be held in Haldwani from 14 to 28 Jan

The National level Saras Mela will be held from Haldwani from January 14 to January 26, on behalf of Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Education and Central Government. On Wednesday, Chief Development Officer Vineet Kumar reviewed the works of the committees formed for the successful operation of the fair in the training camp in Golapar. He said that in this fair, exhibition of goods based on women self-help groups and cottage industries in rural areas across the country will be set up.

The fair will be displayed in various parts of the country along with the products of handloom fabrics, woolen fabrics, household products, herbal products, textile and rural self-help groups to be produced there. He told that cultural events will also be presented on stage to showcase cultural heritage in this fair.

He informed that in addition to providing the market to the goods produced by self-help groups in the Saras Fair, regional talent will also be provided platform to show their talent. He instructed the self-help groups to make arrangements for catering through Indira Amma Canteen. He said that the fair will be made polythene free and special attention should be given to the fact that polyethylene is not used in the fair.

    i have read that through DRDA we can participate but how? can you please tell me step by step how can i participatre inthis fair.
    How can i participate in SARAS mela? please guide me step by step and it will be very beneficial if you can provide some contact no. of the respective officers and web/ links if online registration is done for this fair.
