Traffic to be restricted on Rishikesh-Badrinath highway at night due to road construction work

Due to the work of mountain cutting at Totaghati on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway, traffic will be completely restricted from 6 pm to 5 am till March 31. District Magistrate Tehri and SSP have issued an order in this regard. Police station Devprayag, Kirtinagar and Munikireti have been instructed to completely stop the movement of vehicles from six in the evening to five in the morning. On March 10, permission was sought from the district administration by NH PWD Srinagar, stating the need to completely stop the traffic for 45 days in the two km area of ​​Totaghati. In the past, the highway was closed for several months in the hills.

In this regard, the SDM Kirtinagar also submitted a report to the administration regarding the complete closure of the highway on the highway from six in the evening to five in the morning. The District Magistrate and SSP Tehri issued the order on Friday, in view of the hill cutting in Totaghati. On March 31, after the report of SDM, NH including geoscientists, district task force etc., orders have been given to resume normal traffic. Police has been ordered by SSP Tehri to send all vehicles through divert route while the highway is closed.
