“Hold me responsible if the reconstruction work goes wrong”- Harish Rawat
Dehradun: Speaking at an event in Dehradun Chief Minister Harish Rawat faced a barrage of questions from journalists regarding the reconstruction works in Kedarnath. Questions were asked to the Chief Minister regarding work being allocated to less experienced organizations. Harish Rawat in his own unique style responded by saying “hold me responsible if the reconstruction work goes wrong”. He also expressed his views and opinions on the looming financial crisis and Transfer policies in Uttarakhand.
Experienced officials to get more responsibility in restoration works
Citing the restoration works after the flash floods of 2013 as a challenge the Chief Minister said that the restoration which will cost crores of rupees will be carried out under the supervision of Col. Ajay Kothiyal (Principal Nehru Institute of Mountaineering) and DIG GS Martolia. Other Government organizations are also lending a helping hand in the reconstruction works.
Ministers bracing up for annual assessment
At the end of January 2015, the Harish Rawat led government will have completed 1 year in the office. As a result all the ministers are working at ground level to ensure a good score in the annual assessment.
Aim to increase state income by up to 30%
Speaking on the financial crisis engulfing the hilly state the Chief Minister said it is one of the reasons hampering the launch of many schemes. A committee has been formed to look out for alternative sources of revenue generation in the state. The government aims to increase the income of the state by up to 30%.
Focus on Policy Implementation in 2015
CM Harish Rawat said that the main focus of his government will be to implement the policies announced by them in 2014. Majority of the focus in the coming year would be to implement and ensure proper functioning of government policies.
