Lockdown 4.0: Punjab, TN and Maharashtra extend lockdown till 31 May

After Punjab and Maharashtra, now the state of Tamil Nadu has announced to extend the corona lockdown till 31 May. State Chief Minister E.K. Palaniswami said the lockdown in Tamil Nadu has been extended till May 31, although some concessions have been granted. In Tamil Nadu, cases of Covid-19 are beyond 10,000 while 74 people have died due to this pandemic. Schools, colleges, religious places, cinema, theater and bars will remain closed following the new order of the state government. However, lockdown restrictions will be relaxed in 25 districts of the state.

Earlier, Punjab and then Maharashtra extended the lockdown to 31 May. State Chief Secretary Ajoy Mehta issued an order to increase the lockdown. In this way, Punjab, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu formally declared lockdown 4.0. Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu are both states where cases of corona infection are coming up much more than other states. The central government has already said that the fourth phase of lockdown will also be implemented in the country, whose formal announcement can be made any time today. This is because today, on May 17, the lockdown 3.0 is being completed.
