Govt not to review CBI probe recommendation on NH-74 scam : CM Trivendra Rawat

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat met Union minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi on Thursday evening. The Rs 13,000 crore all weather road construction was discussed in the meeting. Gadkari assured the CM that the project would be completed on time.

Rawat assured the union minister that the all weather road project would be monitored from the CM office.
After the meeting, CM Trivendra Singh Rawat said that Uttarakhand government would not reconsider its decision of recommending CBI probe in the alleged irregularities in land purchase for NH-74 in Udham Singh Nagar district. He stated that the BJP government would have a zero tolerance towards coruption and all those involved in the scam would not be spared.

Urban Development minister Madan Kaushik and chief secetary S Ramaswamy were also present in the meeting.

On March 25 this year, the CM had recommended a CBI probe into the alleged Rs 240 crore scam in which six senior government officials were suspended. On Tuesday, Rawat confirmed that he had received a letter from Gadkari and that the Union minister felt that the recent developments in Uttarakhand will hurt the morale of NHAI officials.
