11 terrorists killed in Shopian and Anantnag operation; 1 militant caught alive
An encounter between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag and Shopian is going on. So far, 11 terrorists have been killed. Whereas one terrorist has surrendered. This is the biggest encounter of this decade in Kashmir in which so many terrorists have been killed in one day.
In these two incidents 4 jawans were also injured. Around 40 civilians were also injured in the conflict during the encounter in Shopian. After that the circumstances have become fragile here.
Encounter in Shopian
In Shopian district, 10 terrorists have been killed in an encounter between militants and security forces at two separate places. While two junior army personnel were also injured in this encounter. Of the dead, 5 bodies have been recovered. Among them, one has been identified as Shopian’s Yasir. The rifle was also recovered from him. Still the search operation is being run in the area.
Encounter in Anantnag
According to Jammu Police, after receiving intelligence, the search operation was conducted in the Dilagam area of Anantnag police station area. The security forces surrounded the terrorists and asked them to surrender. Meanwhile, the family of the terrorist also tried to persuade him to surrender. After which he handed himself over to the security forces and he was taken into custody.
