World’s most powerful rocket Starship experiences ‘rapid unscheduled disassembly’ after launch

The world’s most powerful rocket disintegrated over the Gulf of Mexico after launch on Wednesday. It was launched from Boca Chica, Texas at around 7 pm IST. This was the first orbital test of Starship. Earlier on Tuesday also an attempt was made to launch it, but due to freeze of the pressure valve, the launch was stopped 39 seconds before schedule.

The stainless steel Starship is made by SpaceX, the world’s second richest businessman Elon Musk’s company. SpaceX said the Starship ‘underwent a rapid unscheduled disassembly experience before stage separation. With a test like this, success comes from what we learn. Today’s test will help us improve the reliability of Starship.’

Flying of the rocket from the lauded a big success

SpaceX said, ‘congratulations to the entire SpaceX team for the first flight test of Starship. The teams will continue to review the data and work towards the next flight test. Even after the failure of the Starship, employees were seen celebrating at the SpaceX headquarters because the rocket’s flight from the launchpad was a great success.’

Starship aims to take humans to Mars

This launching was important because this type of rocket would make interplanetary travel possible for humans. That is, with its help, for the first time a person will step on a planet other than Earth. Musk wants to take humans to Mars by the year 2029 and establish a colony there. The spaceship will also be able to transport humans to any corner of the world in less than an hour.
