CBSE drops controversial passage question and award full marks to students in class X English exam

The Central Board of Secondary Education has taken a big decision amid the ongoing controversy regarding the class 10th English subject paper. CBSE has canceled the controversial questions. In the order issued by the CBSE Controller of Examinations, it has been said that on the feedback of the concerned stakeholders and the recommendation of experts, the disputed questions are canceled. In lieu of this, full marks will be given to the students.

In an order issued by CBSE Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, it has been said that in a set of English language and literature paper of CBSE 10th class Term-1 examination held on December 11, 2021, a passage i.e. ‘ in one set of question paper in class X English Exam is not in accordance with guidelines of the board with regard to setting of question papers, it has been decided to drop the question and award full marks to the students for this passage‘.

 

As per recommendation, it has been decided to drop the question paper series JSK/1 from passage No. 1 and its related questions. Full marks will be given to all concerned students for this passage. At the same time, to ensure uniformity and equality, full marks will also be given to all students for passage number-1 for all sets of question paper of 10th class English language and literature.
