Over 600 injured in chemical explosion in China

In Yancheng of Jiangsu province of China, the number of people killed in the chemical industrial park in the afternoon increased to 47 and more than 600 others were seriously injured. It is reported that more than 3,000 workers and about 1,000 residents have been shifted to safer places.

Official television said that the blast took place in an Industrial park in Yancheng town of Jiangsu province on Thursday and on Friday (morning 1900 GMT) fire at 3.00 am to control fire. The injured of whom the number is around 640 were admitted to 16 hospitals. Of these 32 people are still critical and 58 others have received serious injuries.

According to the media report, this fire spread in the plant owned by Tianjin Chemical Company also spread to neighboring factories. In the blast, the children of a nearby Kinder-Garten were also injured.

According to the news agency Xinhua, after a fire erupted in a factory located in Chemical Industrial Park, at about 2.48 AM on Thursday. The workers were trapped by the collapse of the building due to a horrific explosion.

Glass windows of residential homes were broken. Eyewitnesses say that many workers were seen leaving the factory blood-soaked after the explosion.
