SOP issued for reopening Dehradun RTO to public
The SOP has been issued by Divisional Transport Officer DC Pathai to put departmental functioning on track in RTO. Only 20 vehicle owners will be issued driving licenses in RTO in a day. Also, only 20 vehicle owners will be able to deposit the road tax of the vehicles.
According to the SOP, only 20 vehicle owners will be issued driving licenses in a day. In the first phase, driving license will be issued to those who have already registered. Currently applications for a new driving license will not be accepted.
Similarly, the number of fitness tests of vehicles has also been fixed. Currently, the fitness of 20 vehicles will be checked in a day and that too will be tested on the Asharodi check post instead of RTO.
20 applicants will be able to apply in a day
As far as issue of vehicle permits is concerned, permits for 20 vehicles will be issued in a day. According to RTO Pathai, overall 100 applications will be processed in a day.
Registration to be done on landline one day before applying
According to RTO DC Pathai, to get a driving license or a vehicle permit, to do a fitness check or to submit a tax, applicants will have to register the office’s landline number 0135- 2743432 one day in advance.
Applicants can come to the office with documents from 11 am to 2 am on the second day of registration. Related documents will be provided to the vehicle owners the day after completing all departmental procedures. For which time has been set from 3 pm to 5 pm.
Masks, sanitizer mandatory for vehicle owners coming to RTO
To get a driving license, the vehicle owners coming to the RTO will have to fully follow the advisory issued to prevent corona virus infection.
Vehicle owners have to sanitize their hands along with applying masks. No application will be accepted from applicants who arrive at the office without a mask.
