Tata Altroz EV claims 300km on single charge

In the Geneva Motor Show, when Tata Motors removed the curtain from its Future Electric car concept, there was a stir in the Indian automobile industry. People are interested to know about Tata’s hatchback Altroz ​​EV. Tata’s electric car will go a distance of 300 km in single charge. Whereas its petrol version will also be launched.

Tata Motors’ new hatchback Altroz EV will be built on ALFA ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) modular platform. Altroz will have high mounted dual LED lamps. In addition it will get a 16-inch unique dual tone alloy wheel. In both petrol and EV, piller mounted handles will be provided at the back door and the split tails lumps will be rear facing.

Talking about Altroz EV’s interior, black tone will be available in its petrol version, while electric version will have dual-tone interior with beige. At the same time there will be a touch-based control air conditioning unit with a large touchscreen infotainment system. At the same time will be given Rotary Style Gear inspired by Tata JLR cars will be seen in the car. According to Tata, Altroz EV will be powered by Permanent Magnet AC Motor with single-speed gearbox.

Although Tata has not yet provided any information about its powertrain, according to news reports it will range from 250 to 300 km. At the same time, this will be Tata’s longest-range electric car so far. While Tata’s Tiogo and Tigor Electric cars can set a distance of 130 km in a single charge. Tata claims that Altroz EV will have fast charging facility and will be charged 80% in just 60 minutes.

Tata will launch its Altroz EV in 2020, it is believed that the BS-6 standard will be implemented in April next year. After which Tata will launch it. At the same time, Tata Altroz’s features are being guessed that its prices will be higher than Mahindra EV cars. According to the news, its price will be around 15 lakh. Speaking of the prices of other-electric cars, the price of Hyundai Kona 25 lakhs, Nissan Leaf will be around 30 lakhs.

The premium hatchback gasoline model will also made on alpha modular platform. Cars from 3.7 meters to 4.3 meters can be made on this platform. Tata Altroz will be launched in July-August this year. On the other hand, it will have a competition with Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Baleno and Honda Jazz. Altroz Style Impact 2.0 is taken from the design of Tata Harrier. There will be large headlamps, front bumpers on lights. There will be features like LED Tail Lights, Floating Roof Line.

Altroz will have 3 engine options, which will have 83 bhp’s 1.2-liter petrol engine, a 1.2-liter 110-bhp 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine and a nexson 1.5-liter turbo-diesel engine.
