Water crisis in Pauri
People had to face problems due to lack of drinking water supply in Pauri on Monday. Water agencies supplied water through tankers in many areas. With the technical failure of the Nanghat drinking water scheme and the impact of Srinagar Pauri pumping scheme due to the construction of All weather Road, the distribution of drinking water in many parts of the city has been disrupted. Drinking water supply may be disrupted for the next few days. On Monday, supplies of drinking water were disrupted in Srinagar Road, Kotdwar Road, Laxminarayan Mohalla, Petrol Pump etc.
Consumers had to face problems due to drinking water crisis. Consumers filling water from the tanker told that the water is not being supplied in the Hanuman Temple pipeline forcing them to fetch water from the tankers. Officials of the Water Institute said that problems due to technical malfunction in Nanghat drinking water scheme and affected due to Srinagar Pauri hydropower project, All weather Road. EE Abhinav Rawat of UPCL told that 3 feeders have been damaged due to the burning of the panel at Chipalghat powerhouse. There are three feeders from this powerhouse, namely Nautha, Paithani and Nanghat. After the panel arrives on Tuesday the power supply will be restored. After which the Nanghat Drinking Water Scheme will also be run.
