Dehradun-Kathgodam Jan Shatabdi to begin from August 25

The new rail service ‘Naini-Doon Janshatabdi Express’ between Dehradun and Kathgodam will start from August 25, just before the  Raksha Bandhan. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, through video conferencing from New Delhi and Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Rajya Sabha member Anil Baluni at Kathgodam railway station will flag off this train from Kathgodam to Dehradun.

This train service will operate five days a week. This train will not run on Sundays and Thursdays. The railway ministry last month approved the new railway service linking Garhwal and Kumaon boards. On Tuesday the program for the commencement of this train was approved.

BJP national media chief and Uttarakhand state assembly member Anil Baluni said that on August 25, the train will be flagged off from Kathgodam for the Dehradun. However, the time of this train, which operates five days a week, will be different. According to Baluni, Naini-Doon Janshatabdi Express from Kathgodam railway station will leave at 6.05 am and reach Dehradun at 12.35 pm. The train from Dehradun will leave at 4.10 pm and reach Kathgodam at 11 pm. In the program organized in Kathgodam, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Rajya Sabha member and  BJP’s national media chief Anil Baluni, Rajya Sabha members and former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Kosariyari and senior BJP leaders will be present.
