Snowfall, rain alert for Uttarakhand on 31st Jan & 1st Feb

Due to western disturbance, there won’t be respite from the cold anytime soon. State Meteorological Center Director Vikram Singh said that due to western disturbance, changes in weather will occur on January 30. There is a possibility of rain and snow on January 31 and 1st February.
On the other hand,snowfall continues on the peaks of Hansling, Rajarambha, Panchachuli and Nandadevi peaks. In the hill towns and the surrounding areas, snowfall occurred for some time. Later lightning started. Heavy snow-covered roads have stopped access to many villages. The team of PWD is involved in the removal of snow deposited on the road.

If the weather permits, then traffic on Munsiyari route is expected to be smooth since Monday. Due to the snowfall in the area, there are power villages in 12 villages of the border have been cut-off for six days. On the other hand, there is the power outages of many villages of the Malla and Vichala Danapur in Bageshwar district.

Snowfall in the hills cold wave in the plains

Due to the snowfall on the hills, the cold wave of the plains has increased. The Meteorological Department has forecast fog, dew and cold in the plains of the state for the next several days.

Meteorological director Bikram Singh conjectured that there would be chills for several days to come. Temperature may fall further. On Monday, except for the Garhwal division, there may be light rain and snowfall in the rest of the state. In the plains, particularly in Udhamsingh Nagar and Haridwar, dense fog may occur in the morning. There may be partial clouds on Monday in the capital. In the morning, there may be a slight fog.
