Philippine president warns China to back off from disputed island

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has warned China to withdraw from the disputed island in the South China Sea. He has warned that military action can be taken if China’s army touches the disputed island. The Philippine president said late Thursday evening that the Philippine army warned this week that hundreds of coastal forces and fishing boats of China have gathered around the island of Pag, controlled by Manila.

Duttera said in the speech, “I will not urge but I am telling you to stay away from the madness because I have soldiers there.” If you put your hand there, then the matter will be something else. Then I will tell my soldiers to be ready for the suicide campaign. “China, Philippine, Brunei, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam stake their claims on the various islands of the South China Sea that are rich in petroleum resources.
