Rains bring down temperatures across Uttarakhand

The weather changed course Uttarakhand on Tuesday evening. From the mountain to the plain, the weather has become pleasant due to the rain. People also got relief from soaring mercury. Also in the plains, the cold has returned in the morning and evening.

On Wednesday, there was snowfall on the high hills in Pithoragarh along with Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. Most areas of Garhwal and Kumaon received rainfall since last night. This has returned the chilly weather in Uttarakhand.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert even today. During this period, there is a possibility of hailstorm along with the thunderstorm in the state. Given the weather patterns, the government has already instructed all the District Magistrates to be alert.

Forecasting of weather department proved right On Tuesday after the rain on Tuesday, there was heavy cloud cover in most parts of the state. Light rain occured in Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Tehri, Almora and Pithoragarh. The change in the weather has also curbed the speed of the mercury climbing.

Bikram Singh, director of the State Meteorological Center, told that the maximum temperature has decreased from three to seven degrees Celsius on average. He said that the weather in the state may be severe on Wednesday. There is a possibility of storm in many areas. During this, winds can run at speeds of 50-60 km per hour. Apart from this, the hailstorm could also occur in many places.
