Amul increases milk prices by 2 rupees

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells dairy products under the name of Amul brand, has decided to raise the price of milk by two rupees in the national capital, Delhi, Maharashtra and other states. This will make milk expensive in these areas on Tuesday (May 21st). The union has made this decision due to the rising cost of raw materials.

GCMMF said in a statement that the price of milk was increased after two years. Earlier, the price of milk was revised in March 2017. According to the statement, the new price will come into effect from May 21 and it will be applicable to all six brands in the national capital Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal, Kolkata, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and other states.

It has been said that in Ahmedabad, half a liter Amul Gold will be available at Rs 27, Amul Shakti will be available for Rs 25, Amul Taza Rs 21 and Amul Diamond will sell at 28 rupees. The cooperative organization said that there has been no change in the price of cow’s milk. GCMMF said, “After the gap of two years, the price of milk has been increased by 2 rupees per liter. Its aim is to provide beneficial prices to milk producers due to decrease in milk production and increase in raw material cost. “

Prior to this, Amul Dairy had increased the purchase price of milk. Amul has increased the price of one kilo (fat) of buffalo milk by 10 rupees, while the price of one kilo in the cow’s milk has increased by 4.5 rupees. The company said that this increase in the purchase price of milk will benefit seven lakh cattle farmers. Amul Dairy had an annual daily consumption of 30 lakh liters of milk, which has now reduced to 25 lakh liters. The increased prices of cattle-goers have started getting started from May 11.
