Schools in 11 districts of Uttarakhand to remain closed on 19 Aug
After the meteorological department warned of heavy rains, the district magistrates of 11 districts have declared a holiday in all educational institutions on Monday. Anganwadi centers will also be closed during this period. District education officers have been instructed to follow orders.
DM Dehradun C Ravi Shankar, Uttarkashi DM Ashish Chauhan, Tehri DM V Shanumugam, Chamoli DM Swati S Bhadauria, Pauri DM Dhiraj Gabriyal, Nainital DM Svin Bansal, Almora DM Nitin Bhadoria, Champawad district DM District Collector Deepender Chaudhary, District Magistrate of Pithoragarh, Vijay Kumar, and Bageshwar DM Ranjana declared holiday in all government, and private educational institutions from the nursery to the Class 12.
The DM’s have directed all the Chief Education Officers, District Education Officers and Child Development Officers to follow the order. So that there is no untoward happening in the event of rain.
