CAA protests continue in Haldwani

After a continuous protest for 60 hours in Banbhoolpura against the CAA, NRC and NPR, a 72-hour satyagraha is now going on in Buddha Park. The strike will run till 11 am (72 hours) on 28 January.

The protest, which started on Saturday, continued on Monday as well. People associated with several organizations including Congress, Kisan Mahasabha, Dr. Ambedkar Mission, Samajwadi Party have participated in the dharna that started under the banner of Samvidhan Bachao Manch.

The dharna in Buddha Park started at 11 am on Saturday morning, raising the voice against the Citizenship Amendment Act, the National Citizenship Register and the National Population Register, from the collective text of the Preamble to the Constitution. During this time, on the occasion of Republic Day, women and children took out the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ from Indranagar to Buddhapark Haldwani. After the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ reached Buddhapark, the constitution was sworn in after reciting the Preamble of the Constitution. This was followed by the national anthem.

The protesters said that poets, writers, journalists, intellectuals, professors, artists and students who stand up in public favor are being declared as traitors. Resisting the central government has become the duty of every intellectual, writer and Indian citizen.

The speakers alleged that BJP tries to give communal color to every issue instead of solving public problems.
