Digital Classroom: Students to be taught via Doordarshan

The Government of India is going to leverage DTH (Direct to Home) and Internet technology through Doordarshan. The state owned channel is going to be a classroom for students of government schools from 1 pm on Friday afternoon. From one o’clock in the afternoon to two and a half o’clock, students of class nine, ten and 12th will start studying science. On Thursday, the agreement has been signed with DD-Uttarakhand and Education Department. Under the Gyandeep program, three episodes of half an hour each will air daily. Senior teachers will teach science and English to the students through videos.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati, APD of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and Narendra Rawat, Program Officer from Doordarshan. Dr. Sati said that all educational institutions are currently closed due to Corona lockdown. Students’ studies are not affected, so studies are being conducted through two mediums. The online process has been started. Doordarshan will prove to be very useful there due to lack of internet facility in remote areas of the mountain. Every student of the state can see this type.

DD’s program head Dr. Subhash Chandra Thaledi said that the students can also watch the daily lecture on DD’s official YouTube channel. All these episodes will be uploaded to YouTube daily.
