Manipur extends lockdown till August 31

In view of increasing cases of coronavirus, the Manipur government has extended the lockdown in the state till 31 August. Meanwhile, the number of deaths from Corona is close to 50 thousand by late Friday night in the country. Currently, more than 900 deaths have been reported every day. This is almost equal to the average of US and Brazil. So far, 49 thousand 36 deaths have taken place in India. At the same time, this figure has reached 7 lakh 63 thousand 733 in the world. That is, around 6.5% of the world’s deaths due to Corona have occurred in India so far.

On the other hand, it is a matter of relief that the rate at which new patients are increasing in India, deaths are not increasing at that speed. For example, the first 10,000 deaths in the country had taken place by June 16, when there were a total of 3.54 lakh patients. This means that 2.82% of these patients died. But, out of 5.96 lakh patients, 1.68% patients could not be saved.

Maharashtra has the worst case of deaths. There are 22% of the country’s patients, while 38% of the deaths have already taken place. Similarly, 3% of the country’s patients are in Gujarat, but deaths have been 6%. On the other hand, the number of corona patients in the country has increased to 25 lakh 30 thousand 490. These figures are according to covid19india.org.
