Uttarakhand cabinet approves reopening of schools for class X and XII from Nov 1

Cabinet has given its approval for reopening of schools in Uttarakhand from November 1. In the first phase, only schools for class 10th and 12th will be opened. These will be fully sanitized before the schools open. It has been decided in the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday. Schools have been closed for a long time due to Corona virus infection. At the same time, the cabinet has also approved the implementation of the track and trace system in the Excise Department.

A cabinet meeting was held at the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Auditorium of the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. During this time many important decisions were approved. In the meeting, the cabinet took a big decision to open schools. Along with the cases of corona infection, it was considered on the basis of reports from parents, educational institutions, teachers and district magistrates.

Lockdown caused by Coronavirus infection has been imposed for a long time. Schools were also closed, affecting children’s education. However, online classes were being given by schools to ensure that there was not much loss of education, but in many parts of the mountainous areas, children were deprived of online education.

Restrictions began to be lifted one by one in unlock phases. From Unlock-one to Unlock-five, a lot of arrangements started coming back on track. Now a decision has been taken to open schools in Uttarakhand cabinet meeting from November 1. However, the school will be opened only for inter and high school children initially.
