The people of Pratapnagar will no longer have to travel an additional 50-60 km. Due to the filling of the Tehri Dam lake in 2005, the traffic routes of Pratapnagar were closed, due to which people started protesting for a long time from Lamba, Okhla Khal to Congress headquarters Dehradun. The bridge was approved by the then CM Narayan Dutt Tiwari amidst heavy public pressure.
