Uttarakhand government aims to rejuvenate 13 rivers in the state

In Uttarakhand, 13 rivers will be revived along the lines of Rispna. A proposal of 90 crores has been prepared for this. This budget will be spent from the Campa fund. The Forest Department has sent this proposal for approval to the Center, from where it has received in-principle approval. Forest and Labor Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat said that on the lines of the Rispana, a total of 13 rivers including major rivers in each district are to be revived. For this, both the plantations will be carried out from the point of origin of these rivers till their border in Uttarakhand.

Apart from this, water storage will also be done in many ways including check dams. The drains falling in the rivers are also to be closed so that they can get water again as before. In the second phase, a number of activities will also be undertaken to promote tourism in these rivers. For this, a budget of 90 crores is to be spent from the Campa Fund. This is not possible without the approval of the Center. Government’s plan: The government is preparing to revitalize Khoh, Malan, Gandak, Garudganga, Hewal, Yakshavati, Suswa, Pilkhar, Nandhaur, Kalyani, Bhela, Dhela and Bindal rivers in the state. 13 major rivers are to be revived and conserved. For this, the proposal for spending from the Campa Fund has received in-principle approval from the Center. There are plans to promote tourism after the revival of rivers.
