Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez informed on Wednesday that more than 500 people died in Spain during 10 days of severe heat, which is one of the highest ever recorded in the country.

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has cited the figures released by the Carlos III Health Institute on the death toll from the scorching heat in Spain. At present, the institute says that these figures are a statistical estimate and not a record of official deaths.

At present, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that according to the data during the heatwave in the country, more than 500 people have lost their lives. In such a situation, citizens should be very careful. He said that ‘climate emergency is a reality.’ According to the meteorological agency AEMET, the heat of July 9-18 was one of the most intense heat ever recorded in Spain.
