Neeraj Chopra again breaks National record ahead of World Championships

Star athlete Neeraj Chopra, who won India’s first gold medal in the javelin throw event at the Tokyo Olympics, continues to create new records. This star athlete has set a new national record with a record throw of 89.94 meters in the Stockholm season of Diamond League running in Sweden. About 15 days ago, this 24-year-old player had set a national record by throwing more than 89.30 meters in the Pavo Nurmi Games held in Finland. Neeraj has touched the mark of 89 meters for the second time. He won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics with a throw of 88.07 meters.

For Neeraj, this performance will act as a booster for the World Championships to be held this month. This is the biggest tournament for Neeraj Chopra before the World Championship to be held in America. In this, all three medalists of Tokyo Olympics are in the fray. Germany’s Johannes Vetter, who has crossed the 90m hurdle most of the times among javelin throwers of the current era, is out due to injury.

Neeraj Chopra has played 7 Diamond Leagues. Of these, three were played in 2017 and four in 2018. Although he has never been able to get a medal in the Diamond League. Twice he has missed out on a medal and has been at number four.
