Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code: Last date for giving suggestions increased by 15 days

The expert committee constituted to prepare the draft of the Uniform Civil Code has extended the last date for receiving suggestions from the general public by 15 days. Now suggestions can be given till October 22. The government has taken steps to implement Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand.

The Expert Committee constituted under the chairmanship of Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai (Retd) on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has so far held meetings in Delhi and Dehradun. Apart from various policies, policies made in other countries and Goa were studied to prepare the draft.

The committee has also invited suggestions from the public for this. The web portal was launched on September 8 by the chairperson of the committee, Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai (retired), with the aim of inviting suggestions from the general public for the draft of the Uniform Civil Code. In addition, suggestions were also invited through email.

Suggestions can be given in the office with web portal, e-mail

The committee had fixed October 7 as the last date for taking suggestions from the general public. Friday was the last day. Now the committee has extended the date for taking suggestions till October 22. The general public can send their suggestions on the web portal of the committee. There is also a facility to provide suggestions by e-mail and in writing.
