Monsoon expected to retreat in Uttarakhand on this date

Uttarakhand received more rain this monsoon season than in 2023. This year the monsoon arrived in the state on June 27 and nine percent more rainfall than normal has been recorded in 2024.

Last year, the monsoon arrived in Uttarakhand on June 24 and departed on October 6. During this period, 1203.3 mm of rain fell, which was three percent more than the normal 1162.7. This year the monsoon arrived in the state on June 27. So far 1221.9 mm of rain has occurred, which is nine percent more than the normal rainfall of 1118.4 mm. According to meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal of the Meteorological Center, the monsoon season in Uttarakhand usually lasts till September 30.

Monsoon is expected to depart after September 25

Monsoon is expected to depart from Uttarakhand by September 25. Before this, there are chances of good rain in the mountains. Last year, monsoon left the state on October 6.

Life was affected due to the rain that continued throughout the day in Mussoorie on Wednesday. Along with this, cold also increased suddenly due to strong winds. People were seen wearing warm clothes in the evening. There was less movement of tourists on Mall Road on Wednesday as compared to other days.
