Deal between Airtel and SpaceX to bring Starlink services in India
The company of the world’s richest man Elon Musk is preparing to come to India. On one hand, Tesla is opening its showroom in Mumbai, while on the other hand SpaceX has made a big deal. Bharti Airtel has joined hands with Elon Musk’s company SpaceX to provide communication services through satellite in the country. The deal has been made to provide high-speed internet services to customers in India through SpaceX’s satellite internet division Starlink.
Airtel and SpaceX deal
Bharti Airtel said on Tuesday that it has partnered with American billionaire Elon Musk’s satellite company SpaceX to provide Starlink’s high-speed internet services to its customers in India. Airtel said in a statement that the agreement is subject to SpaceX getting approval to sell Starlink’s satellite communication-based services in India. According to the statement, the agreement will enable Airtel and SpaceX to explore how Starlink can complement and expand Airtel’s offering.
The press release further stated that, Starlink services via Airtel to business customers, opportunities to connect communities, schools, and health centers, among many others, in even the most rural parts of India. Airtel and SpaceX will also explore how Starlink could help expand and enhance the Airtel network, as well as SpaceX’s ability to utilize and benefit from Airtel’s ground network infrastructure and other capabilities in India.
