Vedanta announces second interim dividend of FY 2024-25

Mining and metal related company- Vedanta Limited has once again announced to give dividend. The company on Friday approved the second interim dividend of Rs 4 per share for the financial year 2024-25. Through this, the company will pay Rs 1,564 crore. Recently the company had told that the record date for payment of dividend is Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Amid this news, Vedanta shares rose on Friday. On the last trading day of the week, the stock rose more than 3% to Rs 448. At the end of trading, the stock was at Rs 444.70, which is 2.98% higher than the previous trading day.

Meanwhile, Vedanta owner Anil Agarwal said that if India privatizes public sector companies Bharat Gold Mines and Hutti Gold Mines, it can become a major producer of gold. Vedanta Chairman Agarwal wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ – We import 99.9 percent of our needs. With large-scale investment, we can become a major producer of gold and a major source of employment. He said that the best way forward is for the government to privatize two major gold producers Bharat Gold Mines and Hutti Gold Mines.
