Gold slips below ₹1 lakh per 10 gram mark

Gold returned to its historic record level of Rs 1 lakh on Wednesday. The price of gold in the national capital fell by Rs 2,400 to Rs 99,200 per 10 grams. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association, this precious metal of 99.9 percent purity rose by Rs 1,800 to an all-time high of Rs 1,01,600 per 10 grams on Tuesday. Apart from this, gold of 99.5 percent purity in the local markets fell sharply by Rs 3,400 to Rs 98,700 per 10 grams on Wednesday. A day earlier, it had risen by Rs 2,800 to an all-time high of Rs 1,02,100 per 10 grams.
Silver price also fell
According to the news, silver prices rose by Rs 700 to Rs 99,200 per kg on Wednesday. Silver closed at Rs 98,500 per kg in the previous session. Spot silver rose 1.19 per cent to $32.90 per ounce in the Asian market.
Gold price in futures trading
Gold futures for June delivery on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) fell by Rs 1,435 or 1.47 per cent to Rs 95,905 per 10 grams. It touched a record high of Rs 99,358 per 10 grams during the previous market close. Apart from this, the price of August contract fell by Rs 1,330 or 1.36 per cent to Rs 96,669 per 10 grams, while the previous close price was Rs 1,00,000 per 10 grams, which is also its historical high on MCX.
