Sensex, Nifty hit a new all-time high on August 29

Today i.e. on 29th August, Sensex made a new all-time high of 82,285 and Nifty of 25,192. After the day’s trading, Sensex closed at 82,134 with a gain of 349 points.

Nifty also gained 99 points, it closed at 25,151. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 rose and 9 fell. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 28 rose and 22 fell.

BSE’s smallcap index fell 403 points

BSE’s smallcap index closed at 55,602 with a decline of 403 points. At the same time, the midcap index fell by 134 points, it closed at 48,807.

Most Asian markets declined

Reliance, Tata Motors, ITC and Bajaj Finance pushed the market up. Reliance contributed the most in increasing the market being up by over 1.5%. Mahindra & Mahindra, Infosys and Kotak Mahindra Bank ended in the red.

In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei fell by 0.024% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose by 0.53%. China’s Shanghai Composite fell by 0.50% and Korea’s Kospi fell by 1.02%.

According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth ₹ 1,347.53 crore on August 28. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹ 439.35 crore.

On August 28, the Dow Jones of the US market closed at 41,091, falling 0.39%. Nasdaq fell 1.12%, closing at 17,556. The S&P500 closed at 5,592, down 0.60%.
