Third batch of two-year hybrid EMBA (Analytics) begins at IIM Kashipur

Indian Institute of Management Kashipur has launched its third batch of Executive Master of Business Administration (Analytics) in collaboration with higher education platform TimesPro. Designed for working people, this two-year program offers the same intensive curriculum and credits in analytics as a regular MBA.

With 30 per cent female students in the batch, the third batch of Executive Master of Business Administration (Analytics) comprises students from diverse fields, backgrounds and expertise. At least 55 per cent of working professionals have more than 5 years of work experience, hailing from 14 Indian states and Saudi Arabia and from diverse sectors including Pharmaceuticals, IT, Legal, Education, Biotechnology, Energy, BFSI, Fashion, Government Relations.

They were selected through a rigorous screening process, culminating in an interview. This ensured admission of candidates with exceptional qualifications and potential.

The two-year Hybrid EMBA (Analytics) is one of the flagship programs of IIM Kashipur offering a multi-disciplinary degree. This course provides cross-functional skills to thrive in the Industry 4.0 standards. This course serves as a springboard for the mid-career professional who is looking to grow and acquire new skills.

Prof. Somnath Chakraborty, Academic Dean, Prof. Kunal Ganguly, Dean Development, EMBA (Analytics); Chairperson Sunil Kumar Johar welcomed the new batch of students along with Anish Srikrishna, CEO, TimesPro and Sunil Sood, CBO-Executive Education, TimesPro.

Pro. Speaking on the occasion, Kunal Ganguly, Dean Development, said, “This batch of 65 students comes from 14 different states and with diverse skills and experiences. Most of them are already working for top MNCs like Infosys, TCS, Thomson Reuters, Amazon, Adobe, American Express and many others.”

He said, “Over the next 24 months, you will acquire skills that will not only enhance your work efficiency but also inculcate leadership skills in you. This course has been designed to meet the rapidly changing needs of today’s businesses. The course has helped many professionals from the corporate world to advance their skills in the business analytics area and apply these skills effectively in their jobs and careers.”

Addressing the students, Professor Somnath Chakraborty underlined the importance of integrating the key skills acquired during the EMBA Analytics program into their professional lives. He also highlighted the need to hone skills like leadership, business analytics and critical thinking to develop future leaders in the industry.

He said, “IIM Kashipur seeks to develop future leaders with full responsibility by providing them with the requisite knowledge and skills while equipping them with skills relevant to the current times. In this direction, the EMBA in Analytics will develop critical and much-needed skills in a data-driven economy, giving rise to a new generation of people skilled in forecasting, strategizing and executing plans based on the internal use of data analytics. We believe that amidst global competition across all sectors, future leaders must be well equipped with innovative business practices, with analytics playing a vital role in the decision-making process.”

The previous batch of EMBA Analytics consisted of a group of 83 students who received their degrees in April this year. These included 25 percent female students. Of the students who passed, 73 percent had an engineering background, 13 percent had agriculture, arts, economics, hospitality management, marketing, media and public administration, 5 percent had finance, 5 percent had healthcare, and 4 percent had science background.

With an average length of work experience of 9 to 16 years, some selected students were given the opportunity to visit Alba Graduate Business School in Greece to gain international exposure.

Sunil Kumar Johar, Chairperson, EMBA (Analytics), reiterated that IIM Kashipur is the only IIM that offers a regular degree in Executive MBA Analytics to working professionals through hybrid learning. The course focuses on emerging domains such as Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Management and Strategy.

The course comprises the provision of 900 hours of learning, divided into six on-campus modules, spread over 25 days per session over a two-year period. The program will be conducted through TimesPro’s state-of-the-art Interactive Learning (IL) platform and delivered in direct-to-device (D2D) mode.

Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded a Master of Business Administration (Analytics) degree and granted Alumni status of IIM Kashipur, making them part of a prestigious network of management professionals.
