Marathon to be organized in Auli, Joshimath on April 8 and 9
Sky Running and Sky Ultra Race will be organized from Joshimath to Auli on 8th and 9th April. More than 150 participants from different states across the country will take part in the competition. This race will be of 48 km from Hanumanchatti to Auli via Joshimath and Sunil village. An attempt will be made to convey the message of a safe Joshimath through the race.
National level sky running and sky ultra marathon organized
Due to the Joshimath disaster and lack of snow in Auli, this time the National Winter Games were cancelled. In such a situation, national level sky running and sky ultra race is being organized by Ski Mountaineering Association Uttarakhand and Sky Running Association Uttarakhand.
Ski Mountaineering Association President Ajay Bhatt said that organizing this competition will give new energy to tourism in the region. The residents of the area have already suffered a lot due to the disaster.
Now efforts are being made to revive hotel and home stay businessmen. Ajay Bhatt told that the top-5 participants of the competition will be given cash prize. Both the competitions are to be held on two different days, for which all the preparations have been completed.
What is sky running and sky ultra race?
- Running at an altitude of two thousand meters in the mountainous area is called sky running.
- The climbing difficulty (Grade-2) should not be high and the gradient should not exceed 30 degrees.
- Apart from this, in Sky Ultra Race you have to run while crossing various difficulties.
