Tourist influx increases after snowfall in Auli ahead of Christmas
On Christmas eve, there was heavy snowfall in Auli. This led to a rapid increase in the number of tourists in Auli. About 5000 tourists are expected to arrive by late evening. Snowfall started in Auli late on Monday night.
In the morning, about half a feet of snow had accumulated here. Tourists who came here to celebrate Christmas kept playing in the snow. Many tourists also tried their hand at skiing. The entire Auli is covered with snow.
As per local business owners, the snowfall just before Christmas has increased the number of tourists. There has been a surge in hotel bookings.
There is a provision for accommodation of more than five thousand people in GMVN, private hotels, home stays, huts etc. in Auli. Christmas bookings are already full in GMVN.
At the same time, bookings have increased in private hotels as well. Tourists were arriving till late Tuesday evening.
On the other hand, the tourists who reached Auli to celebrate Christmas also enjoyed the chair lift a lot. There was a queue of tourists to go in the chair lift. By noon, more than 500 tourists had enjoyed the views from the top.
